Evening All.....

Cycled through the patch the last couple of evenings. The highlight has been 3 Green Sandpipers on the Wildfowlers’ Pool. Plenty of Swifts last night, along with House Martins, Swallows and the Oystercatcher fledgling showing well on Freeman's Pool.

Little Owl was just visible in Admiralty Wood.

Birding at Aldcliffe

For a map of the whole site please click on the 'Aldcliffe map' tab at the top of the page.

Please be aware that some of the specific site names are not necessarily 'real' names and may have been coined by local patch birders, however some (such as Frog Pond and Pony Wood) are historically established.

IMPORTANT:
We ask that visiting birders keep to all public rights of way.
Aldcliffe Marsh is owned and managed by Morecambe Bay Wildfowlers Association and is strictly private. A public footpath runs along the length of the marsh along Dawson's Bank from the parking area north to Marsh Point.
Only view the Wildfowlers' Pools from the cycle track or from Dawson's Bank. Please do not enter the field.

All the main birding hotspots are viewable from public pathways.

If you wish to report any interesting Aldcliffe area sightings please comment on this site, post on the LDBWS website or if it is a significant scarcity report your find to the rarity hotlines such as Rare Bird Alert (01603 456 789).
